Check in:
We traveled to Port Canaveral and arrived at 10:30 for our 11:00 check-in and were greeted immediately upon getting out of our Uber. Our bags were taken care of so we tipped the Porter and headed for the terminal. Heading into security, we showed our Sea Passes on the mobile app, passports and the kids’ birth certificates. The line was moving so we went straight through security to the check-in area. We had to show the same travel docs and then took a seat in the 11:00 boarding section. Right on time, our section of seats started to get dismissed and we boarded. We went straight to our D19 Muster Station for our safety briefing which only took a few minutes since we were the only ones there. It was 65 degrees and a little breezy but the sun was shining so we spent some time soaking up the sun on the pool deck and enjoyed our first drink of the trip.
Lunch at Windjammer:
The Windjammer had tons of options for lunch and we had no trouble finding things that our lactose free kiddo could enjoy. There were not any vegan or dairy free options (besides jello) out for dessert but within minutes of asking a service team member, they brought vegan whipped cream with strawberries to the table for him. That was a win and he was one happy 6 year old. PS. don’t skip the Mac n cheese, we loved it
Our Stateroom:
After lunch around 1:00, we decided to swing by to check and see if our room was ready and it was (woohoo). We dropped our carry on items off, the kids got changed for the pool and our luggage arrived as we were heading out. They did make an announcement at 1:30 that everyone’s rooms were ready. Exiting our room, we met our room attendant Benny who was super sweet and very welcoming/friendly. He asked when we prefer for him to attend to our room and we opted for the evening around 7:00. We ended up being glad that we picked evening because it was really nice to come back after dinner and evening entertainment to a freshly tidied room with our beds turned down.
We were in room 9358 with an Oceanview Balcony. The Windjammer and pool deck are Deck 11. Being on Deck 9, we were able to take the steps instead of waiting for elevators and with a floor in between we didn’t hear any noise from the pool deck.

Pool:
The kids said the pool water was a little chilly and the splash pad water freezing so they spent most of the afternoon in the hot tub. I do not typically let my kids get in hot tubs but the water was lukewarm and no where close to true hot tub temperature. The hot tub ended up being all kids; I think most adults felt like it was too chilly to get it. We in jeans and t shirts and enjoyed a drink or two and then explored the rest of the ship. We did make sure to stop by Adventure Ocean to register our kids and make sure we were familiar with their hours and how kids club worked.
Sailing:
We set sail at 4:00 and watched from the helicopter pad. It was a great view but our kids got bored so we didn’t stay put long.
Cafe Promenade:
Cafe Promenade is on Deck 5 and a great option to grab a quick bite to eat! They offer a variety of premade sandwiches, slices of pizza, fruit and dessert. We got some pizza slices and they made Noah a half pizza with no cheese and pineapple. We did not do drink packages so I did purchase the coffee card and grabbed a vanilla latte as my first punch.
My Time Dining:
We arrived around 6:20 for our 6:45 reservation, waited in line for about 15 minutes and then were seated. We enjoyed the prime rib and NY strip steak. The kids said the fries were dried out so they skipped those but they did like their spaghetti. We went with boston creme pie and the vegan caramel rice krispie treat for dessert . Our Waiter brought over the Head Waiter so he could introduce himself, meet our family and help us plan Noah’s starter, entree and dessert choices for the next night. We LOVED being able to do this and we were not limited to only Vegan options. Deepak helped us pick options that Noah was excited about and they prepared them separately and alternatively so he could have them.
